N-(3-Iodopyridin-2-yl)pivalamide is an efficient, and chemoselective amidine synthesis. It is a biomolecule that can be synthesized by the coupling of imidazopyridine with 2-iodoaniline. The efficiency of this method is due to the nucleophilic character of the substituents on the 3-position of the pyridine ring. This molecule has been shown to have antimicrobial properties against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli.
