4-Isopropoxyethoxymethyl-1-hydroxybenzene is a benzyl alcohol derivative that is synthesized by the reaction of 4-isopropoxyethoxymethylbenzene and sodium borohydride. This chemical compound has been used in the synthesis of bisoprolol, a cardioselective β1 adrenergic receptor blocker. It has also been used to synthesize phenolic compounds, such as hydroxybenzaldehyde and vanillin.
