Description :
3,3-Imethyl-2,4-pentanedione is a tautomeric form of 2,4-pentanedione. It is used as a dyestuff and has been shown to be synthesized by the reaction of pyrazoles with phenylhydrazine. 3,3-Imethyl-2,4-pentanedione can be converted back to 2,4-pentanedione by heating in the presence of acid. 3,3-Imethyl-2,4-pentanedione has hypotensive effects and interacts with human keratin.
