Isoxazole-4-boronic acid is a postulated intermediate in the synthesis of aryl bromides and aryl halides. It has been shown to react with pinacol esters in an Suzuki coupling reaction. This intermediate can be used as an optimized precursor for the synthesis of other compounds, such as suzukis, by using mechanistically optimized conditions. The resulting boronic acid can undergo a variety of transformations, including deformationylation and fragmentation.
