Description :
3-Iodobenzylguanidine is an alkanoic acid that is used in diagnosis and treatment of senescent, or aging, diseases. It has been shown to be a potent anti-cancer compound that binds to the thyroid hormone receptor and inhibits its activity. 3-Iodobenzylguanidine also has immunosuppressive properties and can be used for the treatment of autoimmune diseases. This drug binds to fatty acids in biological samples and is taken up by cardiac tissue. 3-Iodobenzylguanidine also inhibits the uptake of cholesterol from the blood into cells, which may be due to its ability to bind to fatty acids in biological samples.
