Description

Isoproturon is a herbicide that is used for the treatment of wastewater and for control of weeds. It inhibits photosynthetic activity and has been shown to have an effect on bacterial strain, wild-type strain, and enzyme activities. Isoproturon is a selective herbicide with high resistance to degradation by microorganisms. The sodium salts in this compound are required for its activity; therefore, it cannot be used as an herbicide in situations where sodium salts are not present. Isoproturon has been shown to reduce nutrient solution levels in wastewater treatment trials.
