This drug also inhibits ns3 protease and can be used to treat amyloidosis, a condition caused by the build-up of insoluble protein deposits in organs. Isoindoline hydrochloride binds to aliphatic hydrocarbons and nitrogen atoms, which is why it has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on ns3 protease.
