Description

Z-L-isoleucine is an amino acid that can be found in the form of a white powder. It has a low molecular weight and vapor pressure, and is soluble in water and methanol. Z-L-isoleucine is synthesized by reacting formamide with ammonium chloride to produce an acid moiety containing the desired amino acyl group. This compound can be used for gelation, solvents, supramolecular chemistry and biological properties. Z-L-isoleucine has been shown to have hydrogen bond interactions with other molecules such as water and amines, which may contribute to its biological properties as well.
