2-Isopropyl-6-methyl-4-pyrimidinol is a potential drug that is a metal chelate. 2I6MP4P binds tightly to phosphate groups, rendering them unavailable for enzymatic reactions. This inhibition is reversible and concentration dependent with a redox potential near zero volts.
