Description :
Isoquinoline-5-carbaldehyde is an aldehyde that can be synthesized by reacting trifluoroacetic acid with a metal surface and nitrogen atoms. This chemical compound has been shown to have anti-cancer effects in vitro and in vivo. Isoquinoline-5-carbaldehyde has also been used as an efficient method for the detection of small amounts of acetaldehyde. It reacts with hydrochloric acid to form isopropanol and acetone, which are then detected by gas chromatography.
