Description

2-Iodylbenzoic acid is a chemical compound that belongs to the group of trifluoroacetic acids. It is used in pharmaceutical preparations, as well as in the synthesis of other chemicals. 2-Iodylbenzoic acid has been shown to inhibit protease activity with lysine residues and hydroxyl groups. This compound also inhibits the growth of bacteria by reacting with amines, which are important for protein synthesis. 2-Iodylbenzoic acid is an effective antimicrobial agent against infectious diseases, such as chronic arthritis.
