The 1H-indazole-7-carboxylic acid (IC) is a molecule that binds to the mineralocorticoid receptor. The IC interacts with the apical mononuclear domain of the receptor and hydrogen bonds with the amino acids in this region. It has been shown that this binding, which is a type of interaction, causes changes in gene expression and increases potassium excretion into urine. ICs have also been shown to interact with other receptors such as the glucocorticoid receptor and erythropoietin receptors, which are involved in hormone signalling pathways. This type of interaction occurs through non-covalent interactions such as hydrogen bonding or van der Waals forces. The IC has an archetypal structure consisting of three fused rings (or six atoms). These rings form a ring system called a heterocycle. The two carbons on one side of the molecule are connected to each other by a single bond, while those on the opposite
