Description

Isosakuranetin is a natural compound that belongs to the group of flavonoids. It has been shown to have cox-2 inhibitory activity and was used in a preparative hplc. Isosakuranetin also has chronic cough suppressing effects, which may be due to its ability to suppress polymerase chain reaction (PCR) activity. Preliminary studies with mice show that isosakuranetin does not cause acute toxicities and does not induce cell death in human leukemia HL-60 cells. Additional studies are needed to determine the effect of isosakuranetin on histological features and enzyme activities in mice.
