Description :Kavakavaresin is a synthetic drug that inhibits the activity of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The compound has been shown to inhibit neuronal death and mitochondrial membrane potential in cultured rat neurons. Kavakavaresin has also been shown to have antimicrobial properties against a variety of bacterial strains, including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and Mycobacterium tuberculosis. In addition, it has been found to be effective in treating rat models of neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease. However, kavakavaresin can cause toxicity in the liver and kidneys. This compound has also been shown to have receptor activity when used in combination with other drugs, such as morphine.
