Description

H-Leu-His-OH is a peptide that has been shown to have ovarian activity. It binds to the epidermal growth factor receptor and inhibits the function of this receptor, thereby inhibiting cellular proliferation. H-Leu-His-OH has also been shown to inhibit follicular growth in mice, which may be due to its ability to inhibit follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) production. This peptide also has a potential use for cancer treatment when administered with estradiol benzoate. In addition, it has been shown that H-Leu-His-OH can be used as an antigen in animals and humans for the development of an anti-idiotypic vaccine against autoimmune diseases such as Graves' disease. H-Leu-His-OH is active at physiological levels and clinical relevance has not yet been determined.
