This enzyme also catalyzes the conversion of amino acids to their corresponding amines and ammonia. H-Leu-bNA may be involved in autoimmune diseases with acidic phs, such as rheumatoid arthritis. It has an optimum pH of 7.4 and will not work at higher or lower pHs.
