Lithium phenyl(2,4,6-trimethylbenzoyl)phosphinate has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of human hepatic cells and reverse the accumulation of lipids in these cells. It also has antiviral properties and has been shown to inhibit HIV-1 replication in vitro.
