Description

Lithium bis(trimethylsilyl)amide is an amide that has been used to treat bowel disease, hyperproliferative disease, and infectious diseases. It has antimicrobial activity because it inhibits the growth of certain bacteria by interfering with their metabolism. Lithium bis(trimethylsilyl)amide has been shown to have a reaction mechanism similar to other amides, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the enzyme fatty acid synthase and thus interfere with the synthesis of fatty acids. This drug also has potential anticancer properties because it inhibits the growth of cancer cells in vitro and in vivo.
