Description :
a-Linolenoyl ethanolamide is a dietary fatty acid that can be found in plants. It has been shown to have beneficial effects on bowel diseases such as Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. a-Linolenoyl ethanolamide inhibits the production of inflammatory cytokines and increases the production of anti-inflammatory cytokines by acting on cannabinoid receptors. This leads to reduced gut inflammation and an improved immune system response. The mechanism of action for a-linolenoyl ethanolamide is still unclear, but it is thought to be due to its ability to activate cation channels which are present in the membranes of neurons in the central nervous system (CNS).
