Description

Lanthanum hexaboride (LaB6) is a chemical compound that has a high resistance to heat, light, and other forms of exposure. It is used in the production of polymeric matrix filaments due to its stability. Lanthanum hexaboride is produced by heating lanthanum metal with boron nitride and an inorganic acid. It is then cooled with a cationic surfactant. The diameter of lanthanum hexaboride particles can be controlled by changing the rate of cooling. Lanthanum hexaboride can be used for wastewater treatment due to its high resistance to inorganic acids.
