(R)-(-)-Leucinol is a chiral compound that is used as a reagent in the synthesis of other organic compounds. (R)-(-)-Leucinol has been shown to be effective in the synthesis of chlorobenzene, which contains two asymmetric carbons. The compound was obtained by filtration and recrystallization from hexanes and anhydrous sodium hexahydrate.
