• Description: Lithocholylglycine is a bile acid that is conjugated with glycine, which is the first step in the synthesis of bile acids. Lithocholylglycine has been found to be useful as an analytical tool for determining serum bile acids and can be used as a biological marker for liver function. This compound also has anticancer and anti-inflammatory properties and may be useful in clinical pathology, especially in cases of hepatitis or diabetes. Lithocholylglycine has been shown to have cholinergic activity and to decrease blood glucose levels in diabetic patients.
