Description

DL-Lauroylcarnitine chloride is an orally active absorption enhancer that has been widely used in pharmaceutical preparations. It has the advantage of being water soluble and can be easily mixed with aqueous solutions. DL-Lauroylcarnitine chloride is also capable of enhancing the effects of anesthetic drugs. This substance can be used to increase the effectiveness of a drug by increasing its concentration in the blood or tissues and also increasing its rate of absorption. The dose required for this process is not well known, but it appears to be proportional to the amount of fatty acid in the formulation.
