Description

Lithium Trifluoromethanesulfonate is a chemical compound that occurs as a white solid, with a melting point of −95.5 °C and boiling point of 122 °C. It can be prepared by reacting lithium hydroxide with hydrogen fluoride in methanol. The product has been shown to bind to the hydroxyl group of cyclopentene oxide, which is an organic compound used in the production of polyurethane materials. Lithium Trifluoromethanesulfonate has been shown to have good transport properties and chemical stability at high temperatures, making it useful for reactions involving reactive metals such as magnesium salt.
