Description

Lofexidine is a drug that belongs to the group of α2-adrenergic receptor antagonists. It has been shown to reduce the symptoms of withdrawal from opiates and cocaine, as well as alcohol and nicotine. This drug inhibits the enzyme cAMP which catalyzes the conversion of dopamine to norepinephrine by preventing it from binding to its receptor site on cells.
