Description

Methyl pentyl ketone is a reactive, unsaturated alkyl with the chemical formula of CH3(CH2)4CO. It is chemically classified as a methyl ethyl ketone and has the characteristic odor of fruit. Methyl pentyl ketone has a high reactivity and can be used in the production of microcapsules and solid catalysts. It can also be used to clean metal surfaces by attacking metal hydroxides and removing other types of corrosion. Methyl pentyl ketone is also used in detergent compositions as a solvent for surfactants. Methyl pentyl ketone has been detected at concentrations between 0.1 ppm to 1 ppm in air.END>>
