Informations sur le produit
Methyl red is a dye that has been used in molecular biology as a measure of the activity of DNA, RNA, and protein enzymes. The methyl red test is based on the ability of the dye to undergo a color change from red to yellow as a result of an increase in pH. Methyl red reacts with dinucleotide phosphate by intramolecular hydrogen transfer and can be used to detect the presence of antimicrobial agents, such as antibiotics, which inhibit this reaction. The optimum concentration for methyl red is at 1mg/L in human serum and wastewater treatment. A Langmuir adsorption isotherm was used to determine its surface methodology. The optical sensor for methyl red is based on its fluorescence properties.
Methyl Red has been shown to have no significant effect on aerobic bacteria such as Aerobacter aerogenes (1).
