4-(4-Morpholinyl)benzaldehyde (4-MABA) is a synthetic compound that has been shown to inhibit cancer cell proliferation, induce apoptosis, and inhibit angiogenesis. It inhibits the growth of cancer cells by acting as an anticancer agent that binds to DNA and prevents protein synthesis. 4-MABA also inhibits the activity of tyrosinase, an enzyme involved in melanin production. The inhibition of tyrosinase may be due to its ability to form hydrogen bonds with the enzyme or by binding to the active site of tyrosinase. 4-MABA is capable of forming hydrogen bonds with human serum albumin, which may account for its inhibitory properties on human erythrocytes.
