• Description: H-Met-Met-Met-OH is a synthetic, antifungal drug that inhibits the synthesis of fatty acids. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of E coli K-12, which is responsible for the production of toxic substances in the intestine. H-Met-Met-Met-OH inhibits peptidase activity and fatty acid synthesis by competing with other substrates for uptake into the cell. H-Met-Met-Met-OH also inhibits sugar transport, leading to a decrease in glycolysis and energy production. The drug has been used in clinical trials against Candida albicans and Cryptococcus neoformans.
