Description :(R)-(-)-3-Hydroxybutyric acid methyl ester is a monocarboxylic acid that is metabolized by phosphofructokinase and other enzymes to produce the corresponding 3-hydroxybutyrate. This compound is synthesized from tiglic acid, which can be obtained from corynebacterium.
