• Description: 1-(Methylamino)propan-2-ol is a solvent with reactive properties. It has been shown to act as an organocatalyst for the trimethylborane reaction with alkanolamines. The reaction is heterogeneously catalysed and takes place at low energy input, making it an environmentally friendly process. 1-(Methylamino)propan-2-ol has also been used experimentally in nucleophilic attacks on bifunctional molecules. It can be used as a proton donor for catalytic reactions, and it acts as a nucleophile in catalytic reactions with carbonyl compounds.
