The 1-methyl-3-nitro-1H-pyrazole is an organic compound with a chemical formula of C6H4NO2. It has a molecular weight of 132.17 g/mol and the following structural formula:
The molecule consists of a pyrazole ring with one methyl group attached to the nitrogen atom. The proton in the heterocycle is located on the nitro group, which is bonded to two other groups: an isothiazole and an amine. The nitro group contains a lone pair of electrons, which can be donated to another molecule, forming an interaction. The molecular orbitals are mainly made up of p orbitals and have a very large energy gap between them, so there are no interactions between the molecular orbitals when they are not occupied by electrons. Additives such as amines can occupy these empty molecular orbitals and generate new reactions products that are not found in nature.
