• Description: 7-Methoxy-1H-indole-2,3-dione is a synthetic, heterocyclic compound. It is a monomer and an aniline derivative. 7-Methoxy-1H-indole-2,3-dione has been shown to inhibit the growth of cells by binding to the cytosolic protein deoxyvasicinone and preventing its attachment to DNA. This prevents the synthesis of proteins in the cell, which leads to cell death. 7-Methoxy-1H-indole-2,3-dione has also been shown to have antiinflammatory properties due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis.
