5-(4-Methoxyphenyl)-4H-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiol is an acidic organoaluminum compound that is activated by 2-chloropyridine N-oxide. It is a solid catalyst used in various chemical reactions, such as the synthesis of isonicotinic acid ester hydrochloride. This compound exhibits reactive properties and can undergo reactions with different functional groups, including amides and esters. Additionally, 5-(4-Methoxyphenyl)-4H-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiol has been studied for its potential effects on hematopoiesis (the production of blood cells) and its ability to induce apoptosis in certain cell types. Its interaction with annexin and porphyrins has also been investigated.
