Description :
The amine 1-(2-methoxyphenyl)ethyl]amine has a chiral carbon atom at the center of the molecule. It is an organometallic compound with an ethyl group and a phenol group. This amine is used in organic synthesis as a ligand for asymmetric hydrogenation, acetylation, and alkylation reactions. The optical rotation of this compound is +30° (c = 1%). Some of its uses include in the synthesis of mandelic acid, alkoxides, carbocycles, and aldimines.
