Description

Methyl 2-bromoisobutyrate is an organic compound that belongs to the group of halides. It can be used as a plant growth regulator and is able to inhibit the proliferation of leukemia cells. The effects of MIBB on leukemia cells are not related to inhibition of DNA synthesis or RNA transcription, but instead are due to its ability to induce apoptosis by inhibiting ribosomal protein synthesis. Methyl 2-bromoisobutyrate also has anti-inflammatory properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit liver inflammation by suppressing transfer reactions and reducing inflammatory cytokines.
