• Description: Methyl 3-hydroxy-2,2-dimethylpropanoate is a cross-linking agent that can be used to cross-link proteins. It has been shown to bind to the CB2 receptor and inhibit the migration of leukocytes in HIV infection. Methyl 3-hydroxy-2,2-dimethylpropanoate also has been shown to inhibit fatty acid synthesis by inhibiting the activity of acyl coenzyme A synthetase and acyl coenzyme A reductase. This compound also can induce reactions with other compounds in organic nitrates, alkanoic acids, and hiv infection.
