Description

4-Methyl-1H-1,2,3-triazole is a potent and selective antagonist at the GABA(A) receptor. It binds to a site on the gamma subunit of the GABA receptor that is distinct from benzodiazepine and barbiturate sites. This binding inhibits chloride ion influx into cells and reduces neuronal excitability. 4-Methyl-1H-1,2,3-triazole has been shown to have low expression in human cancer cells. The compound has significant interactions with other drugs such as gamma aminobutyric acid (GABA), which may affect its pharmacokinetic properties.
