Description :
The ligand [4-methoxypyridin-2-yl]methanamine is an alcohol that can be used as a monomer in the polymerization of styrene. It is synthesised by the reaction of 4-methoxypyridine with methylamine and methyl methacrylate. The synthesis has been shown to proceed in high yields. The functionalised ligand was crystallised in two different crystal forms, which differed only in their orientation. These crystals were then used for x-ray crystallography studies.
