Description :2-Methoxynicotinic acid is a mineralocorticoid receptor antagonist that binds to the mineralocorticoid receptor and blocks its activity. This drug is used to treat primary aldosteronism, which is a disease in which the adrenal glands produce too much of the hormone aldosterone. 2-Methoxynicotinic acid has been shown to have predictive modeling properties for pharmacokinetics and molecular modeling. It also has anti-inflammatory properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis.
