Informations sur le produit
- Acetic Acid, 2-(2-Formylphenoxy)-, Methyl Ester
Methyl 2-formylphenoxyacetate is a chemical that is used as an intermediate for the synthesis of other compounds. It has been shown to have inhibitory activity against cancer cells, with a chloride ion being required for this activity. Methyl 2-formylphenoxyacetate may act as an analog of phenoxyphenol and be useful in the treatment of cancer. The mechanism of action may be due to its ability to interfere with the growth of cancer cells by inhibiting their ability to synthesize proteins needed for cell division and growth. This inhibition can be achieved by methylation or esterification, which are both catalysed by methyl 2-formylphenoxyacetate.
