Description

Medicarpin is a natural product that belongs to the family of isoflavonoids. It is an inhibitor of p-hydroxybenzoic acid, an enzyme involved in the biosynthesis of p-hydroxybenzoic acid and other polyphenols. Medicarpin has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties in vitro and in vivo. This compound has been shown to be effective against skin cancer cells and high resistance strains of Candida glabrata. Medicarpin also inhibits the production of proinflammatory cytokines such as IL-10. The biological properties of medicarpin are related to its ability to inhibit metabolic disorders and auto immune diseases by regulating the production of IL-10, which is an important anti-inflammatory cytokine.
