Description

1-Methoxy-4-(2-propenyl)benzene is a natural compound that has been found to have insecticidal properties. It is used in the synthesis of eugenol and estragole, which are important components in the flavor industry. The optimum concentration of 1-methoxy-4-(2-propenyl)benzene for killing insects is around 0.1%. In toxicity studies, it has been shown to be carcinogenic in rats and mice. However, this chemical's effect on humans is not well understood at this time.
