Description

The p-Menthane-1,8-diol monohydrate is a film-forming polymer that has been used in the preparation of pharmaceutical preparations. The hydroxyl group on the molecule is responsible for its ability to form hydrogen bonds with water molecules, which results in a film that can be used as an adhesive or coating. It also has been shown to have some anti-inflammatory effects and may be useful in treatment of chronic bronchitis.
