Me3(ome)tbuxphos (MeO-BTP) is a phosphine ligand that binds to palladium. It is used as a catalyst in the palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions of aryl halides with various nitrogen nucleophiles, such as amines, amides, and nitro compounds. MeO-BTP is also used as a surrogate for dibenzylideneacetone (Ph2C=Pd) in the synthesis of biaryl compounds. The ligand is prepared by reacting an organometallic compound with phosphine oxide and subsequently heating to produce MeO-BTP. It has been shown that this reagent can be used to synthesize biaryl compounds with high yields under mild conditions.
