- (±)-Manidipine
Manidipine is a dinucleotide phosphate that binds to the enzyme phosphodiesterase, inhibiting the breakdown of cAMP. This increases the concentration of cAMP in cells. Manidipine has been shown to reduce systolic blood pressure by decreasing the production of angiotensin II and other vasoconstrictive substances. It also reduces platelet aggregation and has anti-inflammatory properties. Manidipine is metabolized primarily by the liver and excreted in urine as metabolites.
