• Description: 4-Methyl estradiol is an estrogen that is a naturally occurring metabolite of estradiol. It has been shown to have weak estrogenic effects and may be used in low doses to treat breast cancer. 4-Methyl estradiol binds to the estrogen receptor with high affinity, which leads to its activation and subsequent translocation into the nucleus, where it binds to DNA and regulates gene transcription.
