• Description: 3,4-(Methylenedioxy)phenylacetic acid is a synthetic compound that has been shown to inhibit tyrosine phosphatases. This inhibition leads to an increase in the production of protein kinase C and other enzymes that are involved in signal transduction processes, which result in the promotion of cell proliferation. 3,4-(Methylenedioxy)phenylacetic acid also possesses photochemical properties and can absorb ultraviolet light at wavelengths of up to 300 nm.
