Description

Metoprolol is a beta blocker drug that is used to treat various cardiovascular disorders. It has been shown to be effective in reducing the risk of heart disease, as well as treating high blood pressure and angina pectoris. Metoprolol binds to beta-receptors in the heart and blood vessels, blocking the action of catecholamines such as adrenaline, which causes an increase in heart rate and force of contraction.
