Methyl tricosanoate has been found to inhibit the growth of bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Salmonella typhimurium, and Staphylococcus aureus in human serum. This compound also inhibits the growth of Candida albicans, which causes infection in humans. Methyl tricosanoate has been shown to have antiviral and antibacterial properties.
